Solo Kayaking Down the Mississippi River

Summer of 2010

-The following pages are a compilation of pre-trip planning, live trip media, and post expedition material. Enjoy.

I set out on the solo kayaking trip down the Mississippi River in the middle of June 2010.  I began kayaking at the source of the river, Lake Itasca, and reached the Gulf of Mexico August 5th.  I the trip of 2,350 miles took me 54 days.

I took videos and photographs throughout his voyage to document the equipment used, the ecosystems and cultures passed, and the adventures I experienced. I will also be keeping an online blog or journal of my day-to-day successes and failures.

I will be venturing far from the creek beneath the bridge pictured to the right where I first fell in love with the flowing water. I hope that you will travel with me as I paddle the biggest creek I can find.
